Emmerdale’s toddler actor Harry Whittaker dies

Stars honour memory of Harry Whittaker who played Marlon Dingle's son Leo in ITV soap Emmerdale

The toddler who played Leo Dingle in the ITV soap Emmerdale has died. Emmerdale bosses and cast paid a special tribute to little Harry Whittaker, who played Marlon Dingle and Rhona’s son, at the end of last night’s episode.

“To Harry, With Love”, read the on-screen tribute to the Harry, who had Down’s Syndrome – like the little boy character he played.

Mark Charnock, who plays his on-screen dad Marlon, tweeted: “Our superhero. We were lucky to know you and hear your laugh. You lit up our lives, dearest, loveliest Harry.”

After receiving an overwhelming response from well-wishers, he added: “Thank you all. We’ll all pass on your overwhelming response to Harry’s amazing family. Thank you for all your kind words. It means a lot. Xx”

“We will all miss Harry greatly and have offered our sincerest condolences to his family at this very sad time,” an Emmerdale spokesperson said.
