Rebekah Vardy’s definitely dividing audiences with her pull-no-punches personality on this year’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

She’s straight-faced, focused and has high expectations for her campmates when it comes to the Bushtucker Trials (poor Shappi!) – and isn’t afraid to tell everyone how she’s feeling, when she’s feeling it.

But the mum of 4, who’s married to Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy, isn’t afraid to get personal with her fellow contestants, too.

She really opened up to them in last night’s episode – about the extreme bout of postnatal depression she faced after giving birth to her 2nd child.

It was partially triggered, she says, after years of bottling her feelings up following horrific abuse as a teenager, which culminated in 2 suicide attempts at the age of 14.

?

"When I was that age, it was something that was pushed under the carpet and it had such a bad effect on me and I made such horrific decisions in life,” she told fellow campmate Iain Lee.

"I got to a point after I had my 2nd child where it just hit me and it does because you can’t run from it forever and that is what I was doing.

“I had really bad postnatal depression with my second, it’s like Pandora’s box opens and when it opens you have to deal with it.

"It was a knock-on effect after that. I had CBT therapy which changes your brain’s thought process.

"I had counselling and I was on anti-depressants for a while and then all of a sudden things just started getting better because you learn to deal with things and you need to talk and talk helps you overcome so many things. It is so different now.”

???

For what it’s worth, team MFM have always admired Becky’s honesty. (This writer is an especially big fan.)

We were absolutely thrilled to see how publicly she embraced her mum tum following the birth of her 4th child.

And now, we’re really thankful she’s shared her PND story – and the message that those wounds can heal with time - on one of the biggest TV shows in the country ?
