A Buckingham Palace spokesman has rubbished reports that Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting their first baby. The story in American magazine Star alleged that they would announce the pregnancy once they returned from their honeymoon!

“[The gossip is] absurd and certainly not true,” the Royal spokesman said. The Prince was asked about his plans to have a family when he first announced the engagement, and laughed off the question with a friendly suggestion that there may be children at some point in the future.

Kate, who will formally be known as Catherine once married, was confirmed into the Church of England last month in readiness for her husband-to-be’s potential new role as head of the Church of England – when he becomes King. “Catherine, who was already baptised, decided to be confirmed as part of her marriage preparations,” a Palace spokesman told US Weekly.
