Kate Middleton to help ill girls become princesses

Prince William’s new wife Kate Middleton to become patron of a children’s charity granting wishes to sick kids

Kate Middleton is the princess many little girls are looking up to after her Royal Wedding to Prince William. But the future Queen of England is going to make some extra special children follow their own dreams. Kate is to become patron of children’s charity Starlight, which aims to grant wishes for seriously ill children.


“Any charity would be delighted to have her support. She and Prince William have both been great supporters in the past and attended fundraising events,” said Henry Breakwell, from Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Prince William helped a little girl’s princess dream come true for Starlight when he entertained her for the day. Lydia, 6, was seriously ill with heart disease and her wish was to become a princess.

Kate’s family’s mail-order company, Party Pieces, also helps organise events for Starlight.
