The Queen of Pop Madonna is reportedly planning on reuniting her adopted Malawian daughter Mercy with her biological family for the first time since she left the Malawi orphanage a year ago, according to The Sun.

The trip to Malawi was planned so that 4-year-old Mercy can meet up with her natural father James Kambewa and other relatives, who gave the little girl up for adoption. The 51-year-old singer is also rumoured to be planning to reunite her adoptive son David, who is also originally from Malawi, with his natural family.

“She promised to take them back to their homeland. She sees it as vital that they understand their roots. Mercy’s meeting with her family will be particularly emotional as it’s the first time she’s seen them since last summer,” a source has revealed.

Mercy's father James Kambewa launched a legal bid last April to regain custody of his daughter, but gave up his fight just two months later.
