The hustle and bustle of Oxford Street simply melts away as you nip into St Christopher’s Place – a quaint little collection of beautiful shops and restaurants right in the heart of London.
MFM immediately got that warm Christmassy feeling as we walked along the cobbled streets, which are glistening with fabulous festive lights. For those seeking a quite rest from all of the holiday shopping there are plenty of cafes to snuggle up in, while those keen for a good feed, Carluccios, Pizza Express and a couple of traditional English pubs tick the right boxes.
After sampling some mulled wine at Carluccios (we’re fully in the Christmas spirit now!), we stopped for a quick chat with Reiss’ store manager Alex McCart. Alex picked out some beautiful pieces ideal for mums and mums-to-be this season – nothing drab and boring in sight.
Alex’s main tip for being super stylish and comfy this winter is to invest in a lovely oversized chunky cardigan under which you can wear a pair of comfy jeggings or even a bright maxi skirt – great for sitting just under your bump. Cowl necks are also great Alex said, before moving onto fab colour pop jackets that work well over any outfit and hide any lumps you might be worried about.
Lots of the shops are doing extra special discounts on a Thursday evening – Kurt Gieger stole the show for us with a further 25% being offered on top of sale prices. Look out for it’s range of shoes with gold stars under the heel – a great look for Christmas. Goody bags were free with every purchase and there was a fun photo booth in there too – complete with wind machine!
If you’ve not quite caught the Christmas bug yet, this is a great place to start – the next and final Thank You Thursday event is taking place on the 24th November (7pm till late).
