Paw Patrol is heading back to cinemas for a fourth film, with director Cal Brunker returning for a new adventure planned for 2029.

Get ready for another cinema adventure with Chase, Marshall, Skye and the rest of the gang, because a fourth Paw Patrol film is officially in the works!

The much-loved children's franchise is returning to the big screen, with Spin Master Entertainment, Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies teaming up once again. Currently titled Paw Patrol 4, the new film is planned for a 2029 theatrical release.

And there's more good news for little fans, as the director behind the previous three films is returning to bring the next adventure to life.

Who's making the new Paw Patrol film?

Cal Brunker, who directed the previous three Paw Patrol films, is returning to direct the fourth instalment. He will also co-write the screenplay alongside Bob Barlen.

The pair have worked together on the franchise's previous big-screen adventures, including Paw Patrol: The Movie, Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie and Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie.

The first three films have proved a huge hit with families, earning more than $500 million combined at the worldwide box office. All three have also received audience scores of more than 93% on Rotten Tomatoes' Popcornmeter.

Brunker says the team is already looking forward to sharing its latest story with audiences.

"Watching the way audiences have connected with the PAW movies has been incredible," said Brunker. "We've written a new story that we think audiences are going to love, and we can't wait to share it with the world."

What have the creators said about Paw Patrol 4?

The announcement suggests the new film is part of a wider commitment to growing the Paw Patrol universe, giving young fans more opportunities to enjoy their favourite rescue pups.

Vishnu Athreya, EVP and President of Spin Master Entertainment, said: "PAW Patrol is a global entertainment phenomenon, and we're investing in the franchise to give fans more of what they love."

He added: "Looking to the future, we want to further expand the PAW Patrol universe through movies, series, specials, short-form video and connected play to bring joy to the next generation of kids wherever they are. There are endless storytelling possibilities — this is just the beginning."

Jennifer Dodge, President of Paramount Animation, also shared her excitement about bringing the pups back to cinemas.

"PAW Patrol has a special place in the hearts of families around the world, and we're thrilled to continue the pups' journey on the big screen," she said. "Together, with our partners at Spin Master, we're excited to bring audiences another adventure that's made for the theatrical experience."

Why is Paw Patrol still such a big hit with children?

Since making its debut in 2013, Paw Patrol has become one of the best-known preschool franchises around the world.

The series has been the No. 1 preschool show on Nick Jr. since its launch, reaching audiences in more than 190 territories and 33 languages. It also has more than 10 million YouTube subscribers.
