South Korean children spark security alert

Balloons released by school mistaken for parachuting North Koreans

Balloons let off into the sky by children in South Korea were mistaken for parachuting North Koreans, sparking high security fears.

As tension between North and South Korea grows, a resident of South Korea reported he saw what looked like parachutes falling onto a mountain.

However on closer inspection, it turned out the objects were in fact harmless helium balloons released by children at a nearby school.

Panic over, it was just the kids, guys.
