Two sisters have baby boys on the same day in the same hospital
Two sisters have told how they ended up giving birth to baby boys on the same day in the same hospital, reports the Daily Mail. Bookies reckon the odds of two sisters giving birth on the same ward on the same day are 125,000 to 1
Sisters Catherine Morris and Dawn Potts amazed midwives at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire after they both welcomed their newborn sons within seven hours of each other.
The sisters were expecting their babies within four days of each other. However Dawn had her caesarean brought forward 11 days and gave birth to Brody Lee, weighing in at 7lb 11oz, last Wednesday. The same day, her sister Catherine was taken to the hospital to be induced after scans showed she had a low-lying placenta.
Catherine’s son, Ethan, arrived on the same ward as his new cousin, weighing 8lb 7oz.
After the coincidental births, Catherine admitted although the sisters had always been close, they were thrilled to share something so special.
“We’re really close and share our problems,” said new mum, Catherine. “But now we’re sharing something amazing by having our babies on the same day.”
