Pregnant star Amanda Holden has spoken out about her worries of her returning as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent.
The 40-year-old mum-to-be has revealed that some dates from next year’s auditions could clash with her pregnancy and birth but she’s been told she’ll still appear. “I’ve been told my seat is safe but the dates may clash. We’ll work something out. I’ve been told by my people that I’m safe on it.”
However, if it doesn’t go to plan, Amanda has a trick up her sleeve… “Simon is the ultimate Godfather. I’m going to make Simon godfather so I don’t get the sack from BGT,” Amanda quipped. “What kind of a man would he be to sack a pregnant woman? I could probably sue him, couldn’t I?”
Amanda isn’t the first celeb mum-to-be who has found herself in the centre of a schedule restructure. X Factor judge Dannii Minogue had the same problem when she fell pregnant and was due to give birth the same time as the singing auditions. Although it was rumoured that Simon Cowell was going to give her the boot, Dannii remained on the show but left the following season.
Another celeb mum whose pregnancy caused TV bosses to panic was Denise Van Outen. Denise was outraged when she was replaced on the singing show Over the Rainbow after announcing her pregnancy, saying, “I’m not ill, I’m pregnant.”
