The Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat is an affordable, lightweight, easily transportable booster seat that will be perfect for trips to the grandparents or on holiday. While not something you’d take out for a day at the shopping centre, it would be ideal for visits to friends and family.

Bruin products are the own brand for the Babies R Us/Toys R Us chain that is a leading international family leisure, babycare and toy megastore. Founded in the UK in 1985, there are 73 stores in the UK alone.
The Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat is a product that allows your child to sit at virtually any chair and table and eat with you when you’re out and about. The chair is adjustable to accommodate your child’s growth and features a large removable tray, high back rest that folds down for easy storage and will securely strap to any suitable chair.

The price of the Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat makes it particularly attractive as a spare or travel booster seat. Babies R Us lists the price at £14.99, which is extremely affordable. The compact size of the Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat will allow it to fit in any boot in order to transport it with ease and the durable plastic material would make it difficult to damage en route. The Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat comes in 2 colours:  pink and blue, so most children should be reasonably satisfied.

What we love

The best feature of the Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat is the price.  At £14.99 it’s a steal and would be an ideal purchase for a spare or holiday booster seat.

The Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat definitely lives up to its promise as it does have adjustable levels to accommodate your child’s growth, has a large removable tray and securely straps to most chairs to allow your child to join you at the table for mealtimes.

My daughter, Ella, who is 13 months, loved the Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat when we set it up as a chair on the floor of our lounge for her. Ella seemed comfortable and was positioned properly for eating and drinking. I felt that Ella was secure and safe in the Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat.

What to watch out for

The Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat is a good investment as a spare booster chair but that’s as far as I would use it. It would be perfect to leave at Grandma and Grandad’s or in the boot of your car for visits to friends and family.

I felt that the plastic was a bit flimsy and adjusting the levels was a bit awkward. I felt like I might break the backrest as I was attempting to fold it down. The adjustment will get smoother over time but it just seemed very plastic. The three levels of adjustment are not that significant and the tray seemed a bit snug around Ella’s tummy. The plastic material does not have an overly smooth finish so after a dinner of Spaghetti Bolognese and breakfast with Nutella, the surface of the tray didn’t look as nicely white as when it started. It does clean up with a wipe of a cloth but over time, seems sure to stain permanently.

Adjusting the straps that attach the Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat to most chairs is rather fiddly. You have to thread the strap through the plastic buckle, which makes the process of securing the seat to the chair somewhat awkward and tedious. Releasing the straps, however, is simple as you only need to slightly lift the buckle to slide the strap out. There are rubber “feet” on the Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat but they don’t seem overly grippy – the plastic base of the booster seat seems to be the main contact with the chair you’re securing it to.

As with most travel booster seats, you would be hard pressed to secure the Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat to a round chair due to the square base of the seat.

Ella preferred it when it was used as a ‘chair’ set up on the floor rather than as a booster seat at the table.

Who is the Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat best for?

Families after an affordable spare booster seat that’s easy to transport.

MadeForMums verdict

The Bruin 3 Level Booster Seat works well as an incredibly inexpensive booster chair that could be left at the grandparents’ or babysitter’s house, or could stored in the car boot. This booster seat is not something that could be taken around with you on a day at the shops but would be a good spare for the home.
