Boots Wide Neck Feeding Bottles are a basic budget buy, but they're great quality and easy to use. Each baby has their own taste in bottle and teats, but these are certainly a good place to start.
All the Boots feeding range is developed and approved by baby experts. The Wide Neck Feeding Bottles are suitable for both expressed breast milk and formula feeds. Available in two sizes, the 150ml bottles are ideal for a newborn baby and then there's the 260ml size for a growing, hungrier baby. Although the design is basic, they're easy to assemble and once they're sealed there's no danger of spilt milk.
Boots Wide Neck Feeding Bottles come with an extra soft silicone slow flow teat, which has a built-in valve to help reduce colic. They cost £5.99 for two 150ml, or £6.49 for two 260ml ones.

Of course, every baby has a preference when it comes to bottles and teats. And you could try many different styles before finding the right one for your baby. With this in mind, I started out with a budget buy of two Boots Wide Neck Feeding Bottles in the 150ml size for a bargain £5.99, expecting to have to try a few before I found one that would suit my breastfed 6-week-old, Mimi. They were an overnight success!
Mimi’s dad, who'd never fed a baby before, found the bottle easy to assemble in a hurry and a doddle to hold. And baby Mimi took to the bottle and teat straightaway. They're easy for me to use too, as the seal and dome cap do work so there's no spilt milk in my handbag! All in all, a no-fuss bargain.
What to watch out for
The wide neck design is compatible with the Boots Manual Breast Pump, but not with some other brands of pump. So you may need to collect milk in a different bottle and transfer it over.
Maybe the anti-colic valve works for some people, but it didn't work for us. Then again, in the dark days of colic, nothing at all helped!
