The MAM BPA-free baby bottle is also free from PVC and Phthalates. The teat is so soft, and has one hole. The bottle has a wide base and narrow body. And, no doubt you’ll have noticed how vibrantly coloured the bottle is!
What we love
The bottle is free from all nasties, such as BPA, PVC and Phthalates. It has an extremely easy to read scale, which really is unique, as it makes filling the bottle easier than any others I have used. And the bottle is very good value for money and looks funky, especially if you're into bright colours.
The bottle is also steady on its feet, due to the wide base. This meant Jack, 10 months, found it possible to sort of feed himself.
The advantages of the MAM BPA-free baby bottle would become really apparent when your baby becomes a toddler - it holds more liquid than your average bottle, and it’s colour options are popular ones for discerning toddlers – or mums fed up with pastel shades!
The extremely soft teat is an advantage if you’re using it to feed a newborn or young baby
What to watch out for
While the wide base/narrow body shape meant Jack had a shot at self-feeding, he did struggle with the weight distribution – as the base is wider, it’s heavier, so it can tip away from your baby if he’s trying to control the bottle and feed himself. At 330ml, you’ll find it’s a little bulkier to carry than what you might be used to.
The teat is unique - it's extremely soft compared to other bottles. While this may be a plus with a newborn, ‘big boy’ Jack, who is already a fan of chewing teats when teething, would possibly give this teat too much of a work-out over time. Jack was also bemused initially by the fact the teat has only one hole. This isn’t reflective of a human’s breasts, and milk also came out faster, despite us trying a number 3 teat like he usually has.
The only real downside is that it’s not so widely available. You've got to be committed to this bottle as you can't just walk into a chemist anywhere and buy a new teat. However the online MAM store means you can get round this by shopping from home.
Who is the MAM BPA-free baby bottle (330ml) best for?
Mums keen to avoid BPA products, with toddlers who still drink from a bottle.
Value for money, MAM’s BPA-free baby bottle is ideal for toddlers because it can hold up to 330mls of liquid. The wide base makes it steady, and the easy to read scale takes the guess work out of filling it correctly. The bright colours are funky, and add toddler-appeal, too. The soft teat works well for young babies, but could need replacing if you’re baby’s teething, or your toddler’s a chewer.
