The Bebe Confort Streety is a practical, comfortable and affordable travel system that's compact enough for the tiniest car.

According to Bebe Confort’s website, their aim is “to do everything we can to help you and your baby enjoy those precious family moments together”. Bebe Confort put a big value of quality – they say they design their car seats after 1,500 crash tests are done, the pushchairs are folded and unfolded 15,000 times, and they also take them up and down 100,000 steps. They also consult infant specialists when designing new items. Reassuring to know!

The Bebe Confort Streety travel system includes a forward or rear facing pushchair, car seat (suitable from birth), foot muff and rain cover. An easyfix base is available separately. The Streety's extremely compact fold is great for travelling and getting out and about, as is the ultra light car seat – it’s just 2.8kg. The system is suitable from birth to 4 years.

What we love

The Bebe Confort Streety travel system is stylish and attractive and looks – for the most part - a lot more expensive than it is.

The fold is incredibly easy and, once folded, the chassis is extremely compact. The Streety is the first pushchair I've found that fits in the boot of my tiny car with room to spare.

The seat unit also folds in an ingenious way width ways and features a centre opening bumper bar that makes it easy to put your baby into (and take him out of) the seat.

The car seat is light, comfortable and easy to fit into the car. The foot muff, rain cover and sunshade are all well designed and attractive, and the basket is roomy.

The Bebe Confort Streety is one of the easiest travel systems I've ever tried.

What to watch out for

The Streety is a little heavy and awkward for getting up kerbs. You need to step on the bar to lift it, which takes that little bit of extra time on the road. The small, hard wheels are no good at all on rough ground.

I found the brake a bit tricky to use. It wasn't clear to me when it was on and often I'd have to step on it a few times before it 'caught'. I also don't know why there’s a separate brake to take the brake off (red on the right side for on, blue on the left side for off).

The hood seems rather cheap and flimsy in comparison with the rest of the system - the colour doesn't even quite match. But it is generously sized and easy to use.

The pushchair can only be folded with the seat attached when the seat is forward facing and upright, though it is easy enough to attach and detach, it just takes that little extra bit of time if you're in a hurry.

I had a bit of a struggle detaching the car seat from the chassis. It's easy enough to do in theory - there are two buttons to press and then you simply lift the car seat off, but I found that one side would come free and the other wouldn't. I'd then release the other side only to find the first side had fixed again. It doesn't sound like much, but standing at the side of the road in the rain, it's enough to drive you to distraction.

Although it seems like the negatives outweigh the positives, I really love the Streety.

MadeForMums verdict

Compact and easy to fold the Bebe Confort Streety travel system stows in cars that many others won’t. The car seat is light and easy to fit in the car. The choice of rear of forwarding facing is also great, especially if you do plan to use the Streety from birth through to pre-school years.
