When to take the newborn insert out of CYBEX car seat?
One question we often get asked by parents is when to remove the newborn insert out of their car seat. CYBEX car seats include a newborn insert designed to keep newborn babies safe and comfortable by providing a snug fit while keeping your baby in an ergonomic position.
The best advice suggests you can remove the insert when your child reaches 61cm — this is around 3 months old, but this may vary depending on how quickly your child grows.

The Balios is a fantastic, luxurious pushchair that is easy to push, easy to manoeuvre on a range of different terrains and has a one-handed fold that makes it ideal for city living.

3. e-Gazelle S, £1,029.95

Suitable for: Birth to 22 kg | Can be used with carrycots: Yes | Travel system compatible: Yes | Weight: 12.9kg | Dimensions unfolded: L93-106cm x W65cm x H100-110cm | Dimensions folded: L32cm x W56cm x H74.5cm | Number of seating configurations: 20+ | MFM Review rating: 4.4 stars
In the opinion of this writer, the e-Gazelle S is one of the coolest pushchairs on the market. Before you get to the really cool part, the Gazelle S is already a fantastic pushchair.
You get a stylish, streamlined design with adapters built into the frame, making it easy to switch from a seat to a carrycot with ease. It can be folded with 2 seats attached and those very same adapters mean it is compatible with infant car seats. It's also packed with storage and can be used in single mode with a shopping basket or converted into a double-pushchair for larger families. In fact, it has 20+ configurations making this the ultimate pushchair for a growing family.
On its own, the Gazelle S is a great buy (check out our Gazelle S review for more information) but the really cool feature, the feature that gives it the lowercase 'e', is the electric motor that gives you a boost when pushing. Whether you're heading uphill, over rough terrain or just looking to take the pressure off, the e-powered version of the Gazelle S is a fantastically innovative pushchair. It even has a built in rocking function to help get your child off to sleep.
MFM reviewer Sandy said, "pushing the CYBEX e-Gazelle S was a smooth and comfortable experience. With the e-assist engaged, I found it much easier to manage hills and slopes – the motor gave just the right amount of extra power going uphill, and the braking system helped control the speed when going downhill, which felt reassuring." The soft, cushioned impact shield allows your child plenty of room to move and the forward-facing configuration allows for extra legroom.
Overall, CYBEX claims that this forward-facing seat offers 50% more protection than conventional forward facing seats.
As MadeForMums reviewer Sascha said in her review of the first generation Anoris T, "This is the most innovative seat we’ve ever used. It’s intuitive, comfortable and looks impressive too. Although it’s expensive, it did feel worth every penny and convinced us that this really is the way forward when it comes to forward-facing car seats."
