People who don't give up their seat for pregnant women on public transport: what can we do?

Hello

We've just been reading yet another of those news stories about a heavily pregnant woman who was unable to get a seat on a train.

This time, the woman, who was 34 weeks' pregnant, had even booked a seat – but the man who'd taken her seat wouldn't give it up. And, apparently, none of the other passengers said or did anything to help.

So we're wondering how common this type of situation is – and what we can do about it?

We'd love it, please, if you could let us know, by adding a post to this thread, if you've ever had issues with getting a seat on public transport while you're pregnant – or if you've ever seen another pregnant woman having to stand because no one would give up their seat.

Is it something you see happening more often, do you think? Or has it always been this way?

And what do you think can we do, as women together – pregnant or not – to help other pregnant women get a seat?

Please do let us know what you think by adding a post to this thread.
