Silver Cross is well known amongst parents for its extensive pushchair range, with the Coast winning gold in this year’s MadeForMums Awards.
Currently the brand has two car seats in its range – the Simplicity and Quantum. But with the aim of trying to simplify car safety for parents, it’s announced 4 new designs to take children all the way from birth to 12 years.
What’s included in the range?
Silver Cross has designed 4 new car seats – the Dream, Motion, Balance and Discover. Each one has different height, weight and age specifications to try and make it easier for parents to choose the right option.
These are the 4 seats in the range:
- Category: i-Size Group 0+
- Height: 40-85cm
- Weight: Birth to 13kg
- Age: Birth to approx 9-12 months
The Dream is suitable to use from birth and comes with features such as a 5-point safety harness, ventilated hood and 5 different head rest positions.
It can be used with a Silver Cross travel system and you'll also be able to purchase the Dream i-Size base to go alongside the seat.

The Motion can also be used from birth but can take you to approximately 4 years. It comes with a 360-degree rotation which fixes in a position place your child into the seat.
Like the Dream, it has 5 head rest positions but also comes with 3 recline positons. And it can be used with an Isofix base to make installation easier.

The Balance has configurations for 2 different stages – 9kg to 18kg and 15kg to 36kg.
Rather than removing the harness as you move between stages, it can be stored away in the back of the seat.
It also comes with a separate Isofix system, 9 head rest positions and 3 recline positions.
- Category: Group 2/3
- Weight: 15kg – 36kg
- Age: Approx 3 years to 12 years
The Discover is a high-back booster seat with side impact protection that expands as the head rest is adjusted.
It also comes with 5 head rest positions and an Isofix fitting.
What are some of the new features in the range?
Installing a car seat correctly and safely can prove difficult, but to try and help parents Silver Cross has placed a QR code on each car seat. So when you’re installing the seat, you can scan the code on your phone to bring up a five-step installation guide.
The guides are visual as well as audio led, so you can also listen to instructions when installing the seat for the first time.
Each car seat is made from a soft bamboo fabric that’s also designed to be breathable.
The first three seats in the range also come with a removable padded insert, made from bamboo, which can be adjusted as your baby grows.
