Your baby is now becoming more recognisably baby shaped and the tail is now disappearing, reaching a size of around 2-3cm - roughly the size of a grape. Your baby’s limbs are now well-formed, arms have grown longer and tiny fingers and toes have the ridges that will become nails.Everything is becoming more defined. Your baby’s nose and eyes are now clearly visible but eyes will remain shut until around 27 weeks. Also many of the internal organs are starting to function, including the heart, which now beats at 140 beats a minute. The external part of the ears are now completely formed, as is the top lip and she now has a large forehead and very small nose. The skeleton, formed from cartilage, is almost complete.
