She can open and close her lips and her neck is strong enough for her to be able to make neck movements. She’s moving her limbs around a lot, although you won’t feel this yet. She even clenches and unclenches her hands. She often holds her hands up near her face, which is known as the boxing position – for obvious reasons! Her vocal cords start to form in her larynx, but she needs air in order for her cords to vibrate and make sounds. Now see what is happening to your body… What’s happening to your body?As your tummy grows you may find that you begin to get stretch marks on your skin. When it comes to stretch marks – you either get lucky (and avoid them) or you’re prone to getting them. You may be able to help prevent them or help them fade after pregnancy by massaging your growing bump and keeping the area moist with oils, creams or moisturisers. Make sure though, that any oils or creams you use are safe for use during pregnancy and don’t be tempted to use steroid creams such as hydrocortisone on the area.
