Prime Minister David Cameron can probably kiss goodbye to soggy cereal in bed this Father’s Day after it’s been revealed that he and wife Samantha left their daughter Nancy, 8, in a pub.

David, Samantha and children Nancy, 8, Archie, 6 and 22-month-old Florence were reportedly enjoying a meal at a pub in Buckinghamshire with friends before the mix-up. Nancy is said to have gone to the toilet, while the rest of the family split into different cars. It wasn’t until they were home that David and Samantha realised they’d left Nancy behind, reports the Sun.

A Downing Street spokesman said, “The prime minister and Samantha were distraught when they realised Nancy wasn’t with them,” adding, the incident happened “a couple of months ago.”

According to the Sun, an employee from the pub admitted they didn’t know what to do. He said, “It’s not like you can look up David Cameron in the phone book and then ring to say, ‘You’ve left your daughter behind.””

The PM is said to have hot-footed it back to the pub 15 minutes later, to find Nancy helping pub staff, according to The Guardian.
