Tesco withdraws Christmas card that “pokes fun” at ginger children

A redheaded mum-of-three was “incensed” when she came across a Christmas card featuring Santa making a joke at the expense of ginger-haired children, reports the Daily Mail. The card, which was on sale at Tesco, pictured a ginger-haired child on Santa’s knee with the slogan “Santa loves all kids. Even ginger ones.”

Davinia Philips, who has three young daughters with red hair, discovered the card at a Tesco branch in York. She complained to a member of staff, who removed it from sale. “I just don’t find it funny at all. My three girls are beautiful, and they were confused with the card. They asked why it didn’t just say, ‘Santa loves all kids.’ It’s quite upsetting.”
