Easy cheesy pasta sauce

Method

1. Heat the butter in a pan until melted.
2. Stir in the flour to make a smooth paste (roux).
3. Gradually add the milk, stirring until smooth.
4. Simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.
5. Remove from the heat and stir in the cheese until melted.

Hints and tips

1. Suitable for freezing.
2. Omit the cheese and use the white sauce as a base for other dishes such as lasagne.
