Orchard fruit puree

Ingredients

  • 1whole medium eating apple
  • 10whole cherry (fresh or tinned in juice)
  • 1whole peach (or 100g of tinned peaches in juice)

Method

  1. Peel and chop the apple. Place in a saucepan and cover with boiling water. Cook for a few minutes on a low heat until the apple has softened.
  2. Stone and chop the cherries.
  3. Peel and chop the peach into chunks.
  4. Strain the apple and add to the cherries and peaches then blend to the correct consistency: runny for newly weaning babies; lumpier for older babies.

Hints and tips

  1. Choose a sweet variety of apple like Gala or Pink Lady.
  2. Suitable for freezing.
