A deaf postman was able to deliver his own baby after lip-reading emergency instructions from paramedics.
Postman James Tipler, who is deaf, has helped his partner give birth to their baby girl. New mum Katie Newell went into labour on Friday, but the couple weren’t able to get to the hospital in time. So James became an impromptu midwife and birth partner!James, who is able to lip-read, delivered his daughter with the help of his brother Matthew, who relayed instructions from paramedics while James helped Katie. Baby Emma Louise was born 80 minutes later to her ecstatic parents.Katie praised her partner and said, “He is proud of himself for doing so well and I’m so proud, too.”
