My package from Cheeky Wipes arrived, very sturdily contained in a brown box, with clear and simple instructions on how to use them. This all-in-one kit had 25 wipes, two different types of oil, a box for clean wipes and one for dirty wipes, plus two bags to use when I was out and about.
What we love
Using Cheeky Wipes is so simple - you just chuck the clean wipes in the clean box with some water and the lavender and chamomile ‘clean’ oil. Then when you’ve dealt with the carnage of a nappy change, the dirty ones go into the mesh bag in a sealable box containing water and the tea tree and tea tree lemon ‘mucky oil’. When you’ve collected a few up you just chuck the mesh bag in a normal wash, easy peasy and no poo contact!
By the time I tried out the Cheeky Wipes Mia was 2 so I wondered whether they’d be right for me. We were just in the midst of potty training so there were a lot of poo-sticking-to-legs incidents and Cheeky Wipes were brilliant. Unlike a normal wipe, which can disintegrate the moment you wipe, the Cheeky ones have plenty of friction and so you can usually deal with any mess in one go.
I might not be ready to hug a tree quite yet but I do worry about the amount of rubbish I produce and so the thought that I’m not adding yet more trash to landfill does make me feel better. I also feel better about what I’m putting on Mia’s skin and I know when baby number two makes an appearance Cheeky Wipes will be put to the test again.
What to watch out for
At nearly £35 for the all-in-one kit it does initially feel like you are forking out a lot of money, but when you realise (as I did) that you probably go through at least one to two packs of standard wipes a week, the amount you’re saving suddenly makes sense.
The only things I don’t like about the kit are the lids of the boxes. I understand the design, it needs a clickable lid to keep the smell in but it’s awkward when your hands are full of baby and dirty wipe.

Cheeky Wipes are a strong, green, and lovely smelling washable alternative to disposable wipes. These save you money in the long run, are good you’re your conscience, and can be used at home or out and about. Obviously, you need to wash them, so there may still be times – such as when you’re on holidays or don’t have access to a washing machine – that you need the convenience of disposable wipes.
