Sometimes the best things in life are the simplest – which is the perfect way to describe this mum’s trick for helping her baby son take his medicine.

Surrey mum Helena Lee was struggling to give her sick little boy Alfie his Calpol, as he (like so many babies) would just spit it back out at her.

Until she remembered a handy tip she’d picked up elsewhere: using the syringe provided in the Calpol packet and popping it in the teat of her baby’s bottle.

It worked a charm, so she took to social media to spread the word…

“FOR ALL MUMMIES...” she wrote on Facebook. “So for the last 24 hours I’ve struggled to get Alfie to take Calpol, he has ended up covered in half of it where he spits it at me…

More like this

“Then I remembered seeing this trick. Not 1 bit got wasted and no tears”

Unsurprisingly, Helena’s post has been shared 121,000 times, and she’s be inundated with over 50,000 comments from fellow parents who, like us, appreciate the quiet genius of it all.

Have your say

Have you done this – or perhaps you’ve got your own hacks for helping little ones take their medicine? We’d love to know, please do feel free to share on Facebook!
