The GB Pockit sets the record for the world’s most compact stroller when it's folded
A lightweight stroller has set the Guinness World Record for being the world’s “smallest commercially available folded pram”.
The GB Pockit won the award for being the smallest and most condensed buggy - when folded - on the market, due to its minuscule folded-up measurements of 35 X 30 x 18cm. This is considerably smaller than its compact rival, the BabyZen YoYo, which comes in at 52 x 44 x 18 cm. This means the Pockit will easily fit into overhead lockers on an airplane (previously the YoYo's claim to fame).
The ultra-lightweight pushchair, which was unveiled at the recent K&J Baby and Toddler trade fair in Germany, weighs a dainty 4.3kg and was displayed floating off the ground. (Those ingenious GB people fixed an air-blower underneath, so it hovered several centimetres above the platform - showing just how light it is.)
The Pockit can be folded in two ways, both of which promise to be only two steps, meaning that it can be folded and unfolded in a few seconds.

Not only is it made by the newest baby brand on the market, GB, the Pockit is also being sold by Mothercare under the name XSS (Xtra Small Stroller).
And while the GB version won't be available in the UK until Spring 2016, you can buy the Mothercare version now.

A new lightweight double
The Pockit was not the only lightweight buggy creating a buzz at the trade fair. Much-loved US brand UPPAbaby had a breezy buggy of its own on show, and this one was a double.
The G-LUXE side-by-side double stroller nipped in at just 7.6kg – making it lighter than most single pushchairs. Featuring 3 recline positions, an adjustable footrest and 5-point harness the stroller will be available in the UK from Spring 2016.
And there certainly won’t be any way to miss a G-LUXE as the buggies come in some bright and bold colours.
British lightweights
UK parenting company BabyStyle had two new lightweight pushchairs on show as well, the Oyster Lite and Oyster Twin Lite.
Weighing 6.9kg and 12.5kg respectively, both buggies are travel system compatible, can be used from birth with the addition of a carrycot (or two) and include BabyStyle’s new one-hand, easy fold feature.
