It’s face time this week. Your baby’s beginning to develop a jaw and dark spots are forming where the eyes will be. And check out the dinky little grooves that are going to turn into ears…

So what's happening to your body this week?

Yep, we're talking Preghaustion. As in, you bend down to take the washing out of the machine and wake up 2 hours later lying on a pile of damp clothes. It's not matchsticks you need to prop your eyelids open after lunch; it's giant logs.

Pregnancy is lowering your blood-sugar and blood-pressure levels – and sending your hormone levels all over the shop. You'll probably be flat out by 8pm, but then, BAM, at 3am you're wide awake.

‘Helpful' friends will tell you this is Nature's way of preparing you for night-time waking when the baby comes. Well, newsflash, Mother Nature: we'd rather store up some extra sleep instead...

MFMer's tip of the week from our community

“I am trying to retrain my mind that just because I don't have a bump and I'm not vomiting daily, it doesn't mean all isn't fine in there. And if the tests say I'm pregnant, I must be!” said Alice, a member of our MadeForMums community.

Is it normal... to not feel pregnant?

Oh yes, if this is you – you are not alone. While others are swapping stories about gagathons, prickly nipples and big windy moments, many of us don't feel that different early on in pregnancy. Or those symptoms can suddenly go away.

While we should be whooping it up, it's easy to start wondering what's going on. Try to enjoy this little oasis of calm, as it is completely normal, but if you are worried, have a chat with your GP.

Our pregnancy recipe for week 7 - Banana pancakes

Why bananas are great for your growing baby

The ultimate no-hassle snack, bananas are brilliant little yellow-zipped energy boosters: stow one in your bag for whenever one of those bone-shatteringly tired early-pregnancy moments strikes. Bananas are also rich in vitamin C, fibre, potassium and vitamin B6 – good for morning sickness, apparently (and, at this point in pregnancy, we need all the anti-vom help we can get, right?)

Baby namer - what do you think of these bird names?

Are you a bird lover? Looking for a name that evokes nature? Would you consider these avian names?

Wren
Set to be the next big bird name (sorry Robin), this little songbird is growing in popularity. The modest little brown bird was considered the 'magician of the birds' in Ireland.
Celeb baby-name-check: Sir Christopher Wren designed London's St Paul's Cathedral.

Hawk
Animal names are on the rise and this majestic bird of prey is a more masculine example. Traditionally a surname, Hawk would also make a cool middle name.
Celeb baby-name-check: Tony Hawk is a professional skateboarder known as 'The Birdman'.
