What we love
The Click & Go feature makes the seat quick and easy to both attach to and detach from the chassis. The seat is roomy and my 4-month-old seems to find it comfortable. The large hood simply pushes down and pops up - no fiddly clips, which are apparently called “hood tensioners” and can be half or fully opened.
The handle can be moved to suit both short (me, 4'11”) and tall (husband, 6'1”) parents. The wheels are nice and bouncy providing a smooth ride and it's also very light.
And despite all the negatives it has, I really do like the Britax Vigour 3+. I look forward to the Vigour 3++!
What to watch out for
I hate the fold. I previously reviewed another Britax stroller and thought the fold would probably just take some getting used to, but I've changed my mind. It's almost as if it was designed by someone who has never used a stroller. When folded, the chassis doesn't stand up by itself and so you have to balance it and unfold it at the same time. And if you're not careful, you might catch the skin of your arm in the locking mechanism.
In fact, I've had a few minor injuries from using the Vigour 3+. Along with the above, both my husband and I have caught the skin on the palms of our hands when adjusting the handlebar and, when straightening up from putting something in the basket, snagged my head on a little silver nodule on the side (which I think is supposed to be for hanging a shopping bag on).
It's also recommended that you take the seat off before folding the chassis, which, however quick and easy it might be, I find really irritating. It also makes it impossible to fold the stroller while holding a baby. It is possible to fold the stroller with the seat attached, but it remains practically the same size as unfolded, so there's little point.
Finally, the basket's not very big and items fell out when I went up kerbs.
Who is the Britax Vigour 3+ best for?
Mums who don't drive, but who want a versatile and lightweight stroller.
The Britax Vigour 3+ is stylish and versatile. The seat is roomy and comfy for your baby, and the Click & Go feature means the seat quick and easy attach to and detach. It's just a shame about the way it folds.
