Pros

  • Car seat and carrycot included in price, height adjustable handles, separate adaptors not required to attach the carrycot/car seat

Cons

  • Carrycot sits awkwardly on pushchair seat, some attachments are a bit fiddly, no padding on the handles

A stroller, carrycot, car seat and changing bag for less than £400 – the Hauck Condor All in One Travel System offers a lot for your money, and not bad performance either.

If you’re looking for a co-ordinated package that will take your baby anywhere, from birth to toddlerhood, without breaking the bank, it’s hard to argue against the Condor All in One Travel System from Hauck. And it came in a remarkably small box – it was a bit like unpacking the Tardis considering what’s packed inside! It’s quite smart without being stunning – it may not turn heads, but it won’t offend either.

The pushchair is a telescopic-folding type, and offers useful features such as adjustable handles, adjustable legrest, a deep basket and gate-opening bumper bar. The carrycot folds flat for storage and comes with a comfy mattress, plus matching hood and apron. The Zero Plus car seat is suitable for up to 13kg and also comes with a hood to shade your baby from the sun and worse.

While the RRP is £399.99, you'll probably be able to pick it up for much, much less if you hunt around online. We've spotted it for £299.99 on Kiddicare.com

What we love

The fact that one purchase will sort your baby’s transport needs makes the Hauck Condor All in One Travel System ideal if you really aren’t the type to mull long and hard over every piece of equipment. It’s also good that no one piece in this set lets it down – all are perfectly good items that do their job.

The pushchair is easy to fold and freestanding when folded – the handle you pull to collapse the buggy can also be used for carrying, though this isn’t ideal. Padding on the straps of both this and the car seat give extra comfort.

The seat recline on the pushchair is easy to operate and it goes down plenty flat enough for a newborn (though you may not use this much as you have the carrycot anyway). It’s quite compact too, so easy to fit into the boot of the car or take on public transport.

The carrycot is good and deep and feels nicely cocooned for your newborn. Both this and the car seat are relatively easy to attach to the buggy - they don’t require separate adaptors that could easily get lost, and you don’t detach the seat unit so there's no fussing. Both carrycot and car seat feel secure when in place.

What to watch out for

Given the price, I expected there to be few shortcomings. The most noticeable is the handles, which though adjustable, have no padding, making the pushchair uncomfortable to push for prolonged periods.

The pushchair isn’t the lightest so isn’t easy to carry around.

The carrycot is removed from the chassis by pushing buttons either side, and feels as though it may tip with a baby in, so best to leave him in place if he’s sleeping when you get home.

The attachment for the carrycot and car seat is accessed via a covered recess in the arms of the buggy, which is a bit fiddly and may break your nails.

As you leave the seat in place at all times, it can look bulky and feel heavy with the extra items on – and the top of the seat protrudes at the end of the carrycot, spoiling the overall look. The changing bag is nothing special, but will at east hang of the buggy with ease.

Who is the Hauck Condor All in One Travel System best for?

Parents seeking an easy solution for their baby’s travel needs.

MadeForMums verdict

With everything you need, down to the raincover and changing bag, the Hauck Condor All in One Travel System offers an easy all-in-one option. However, as is often the way with such systems, not all items are perfect - in this case the harsh handles and bulky appearance with the carrycot in place may put you off.
