Carrot and cauliflower cheese with rice

Add melted cheese to this quick and easy cauliflower dish suitable for first weaning

  • 100g cauliflower
  • 2 tsp baby rice
  • 1 tbsp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 carrots


  • Step 1

    Peel and slice the carrots. Wash and chop the cauliflower.

  • Step 2

    Boil the carrots and cauliflower together in a little water, until tender.

  • Step 3

    Drain, retaining the cooking water.

  • Step 4

    Blend the carrots and cauliflower into a smooth puree with about 60ml of the cooking water.

  • Step 5

    Add the baby rice and cheese and heat through, stirring until the cheese has melted.

  • Step 6

    The amount of baby rice and / or water can be adjusted to alter the consistency.

  1. Egg free, gluten free and vegetarian.
  2. Try substituting the carrot for sweet potato or the cauliflower for broccoli to help get your baby used to lots of new flavours.
