Scientists in Japan have unveiled a robot baby designed to mentally develop and learn like a real baby. The robot simulates the behavior of a 9-month-old and has cameras and microphones for “seeing” and “listening”.
Called Noby, the robot is one of a series of humanoid robots that scientists in Tokyo are hoping to create. The developers, from Tokyo University, are using the robot to test theories of human development using software which they can upload to the robot’s “brain”.
Surely watching a real 9-month-old grow would shed some light as well?!
