Is Black Friday a good time to book a holiday?

If you're planning a family holiday in 2026, then yes, Black Friday is a brilliant time to book it, as you could save hundreds of pounds or benefit from brilliant extras that will make your holiday unforgettable.

However, it's important to know ahead of time exactly what sort of holiday you want to go on and to know when you can take the family away, so that you don't panic buy or end up going for a deal with lots of restrictions that then make it stressful for you logistically.

Package holidays often have brilliant discounts, but if it's flights you're after, you might want to wait to book them on Travel Tuesday (the day after Cyber Monday) when many flights drop even further in price.

If a Black Friday family holiday deal looks too good to be true, make sure you read the terms and conditions in full to ensure the dates don't clash with school term time or that there are no hidden costs for things like booking seats on the plane or adding luggage.

How long do you have to book a Black Friday holiday deal?

Every travel company and tour operator has different cutoff dates for their Black Friday deals, so be sure to do your research and if you like the look of a deal, make a note of when the deal ends. Remember, some deals are limited in number and operate on a first-come-first-served basis, so if you know you want to book, do it as soon as you can.

Most companies operate their Black Friday travel deals over the long weekend at the end of November (for 2025, that's between Friday 28th November and Monday 1st December). However, the Tuesday after Cyber Monday is now becoming known as Travel Tuesday, so Tuesday, 2nd December is likely to have lots of brilliant family travel deals worth snapping up too.

There are also some travel companies that start their Black Friday deals earlier in November - such as Newmarket Holidays, Jet2 Holidays, MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean Cruises. We'll keep adding the deals to our list above as they come in, so feel free to bookmark this page and keep visiting for the latest family holiday deals.

What to look out for when trying to find a genuine Black Friday holiday deal

Black Friday sale shopping can be stressful, and many deals are designed to make you panic buy them in case they're never that low again! So being cautious and doing your homework can really help when it comes to snagging a genuine money-saving deal. Here are our top tips for finding the best Black Friday deals that will genuinely save you money:

  1. Research the holiday before Black Friday weekend: If you have time and know exactly which holiday you want to book next year, then have a look at it before the Black Friday sale and write down how much it will cost you. Then, when you see it in the sale, you can avoid any misleading "was" prices and work out the exact saving you're making.
  2. Stick to your wish list: Just because there's a skiing holiday for a bargain price when you're researching your Disney holiday doesn't mean you should just book it! Write down exactly what you want/ need to buy during Black Friday weekend and stick to it.
  3. Set a budget: Write down how much you want to/ can afford to spend on your Black Friday family holiday and stick to it. Just because a 5-star holiday to Dubai has 25% off, if it's still out of your budget, you shouldn't stretch yourself.
  4. Sign up for newsletters and notifications: By signing up for Black Friday alerts from your preferred travel companies, you'll be first in line for the deals and know that they come direct from the source and, most crucially, are trusted.
  5. Shop around: Don't just be wowed by one deal when you might be able to get it cheaper elsewhere. You can use price comparison websites to help you or just visit several of your favourite tour operators to get the best deals.
  6. Use a secure payment method: Holidays aren't cheap purchases (even during the Black Friday sales!), so make sure you use a protected payment method like a credit card to give you a layer of financial security in case anything goes wrong. Also, ensure any holidays you book are ATOL protected, which means you'll be protected if the company you've booked through goes out of business.
