The cost of living crisis has a lot of families counting the pennies at the moment. While some things are unavoidable (such as food shopping prices at the mercy of big supermarkets), there are switches you can make to save on your household bills, such as changing broadband providers.

We also know how important good broadband is for many households; whether you're a parent working from home, you have teenagers who love to game or little ones who enjoy their tablets for learning and playing, reliable broadband is key!

CEO of broadband comparison site, Fibre Compare, Geoff Pestel has taken a look at six of the biggest broadband providers in the UK, such as BT and EE, to see how much credit they offer as an incentive to switch to their services.

With some UK broadband companies offering up to £300 towards early termination fees, it makes sense to see if you could be saving money away from your existing broadband provider.

Speaking of EE, our friends at RadioTimes.com have put together a best broadband for gaming article, which could be great for any video game-obsessed teenagers!

Usually, if your broadband contract hasn't reached its minimum term, you will be charged an early termination fee. So if you've spotted another broadband that would save you money each month, chances are, you can't switch to it unless you've honoured your existing contract. Sounds like a pain, right?

UK broadband providers, such as Sky and Vodafone, are offering incentives to switch to their broadband in the form of money back to cover the early termination fees. This way, you can switch broadband and begin saving each month, and get money to cover (or towards) the termination cost.

How much can I save if I switch to EE Broadband?

You can save up to £300 when you switch to EE.

When UK customers switch broadband, calls and line rental from another UK provider to EE, they can claim up to £300 towards any early termination charges, and the £300 will be credited to their new EE account.

To claim this offer, simply email the final bill from your old supplier to switch-team@ee.co.uk, along with the EE order number.

While BT doesn't advertise switching incentives on the website, according to ISPreview, BT will honour the same credit value as EE if customers visit a BT store or call. After all, BT and EE are part of the same BT Group.
