Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham says he does not want to reconcile with his family
Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham has spoken publicly about his relationship with his parents for the first time.

Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham has said he does not want to “reconcile” with his family, breaking his silence on months of speculation about a rift with his parents, Sir David Beckham and Lady Victoria Beckham.
In a series of Instagram posts shared with his 16 million followers, the 26-year-old said he felt forced to speak publicly after years of trying to keep the situation private, accusing his parents of going to the press and attacking both him and his wife, actor Nicola Peltz Beckham.
The BBC has contacted representatives for Sir David and Lady Beckham for comment. They have never publicly acknowledged a family feud.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family”
Brooklyn wrote that he had stayed silent for years, but felt he had “no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth”.
“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” he said.
“Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
He added: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
Brooklyn also said he believed false stories had been placed in the media to protect his parents’ public image.
“Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade,” he wrote. “But I believe the truth always comes out.”
Defending his relationship with Nicola Peltz Beckham
Much of Brooklyn’s statement focused on his marriage to Nicola Peltz Beckham, the daughter of US billionaire Nelson Peltz, who he said had been “consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one”.
He accused his parents of attempting to interfere with their wedding, including a claim that his mother had cancelled making Nicola’s wedding dress shortly before the ceremony.
Brooklyn wrote that Lady Beckham had “cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress”.
At the time of the wedding, reports suggested Nicola had refused to wear one of Victoria Beckham’s designs. Nicola later told the Times that her mother-in-law’s atelier could not complete the dress in time, denying rumours of a feud.
Brooklyn also made an allegation about their wedding reception, claiming his mother “hijacked” their first dance.
“When I was called to the stage, my mum was waiting to dance with me,” he wrote, adding that she “danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone” instead of him dancing with his wife.
He said the couple renewed their vows in 2025 in order to create new memories “that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment”.
Claims over name rights and family pressure
Brooklyn also alleged that his parents had pressured him into signing away the rights to his name in the weeks leading up to the wedding.
He claimed they had “repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name”, though it is not clear what specific rights he was referring to.
He said refusing to agree to this “affected the payday” and claimed his parents “have never treated me the same since”.
Why he missed David Beckham’s 50th birthday
Addressing another highly publicised moment, Brooklyn spoke about his absence from Sir David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May.
He said he and Nicola travelled to London for the occasion but were “rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him”.
“He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner,” Brooklyn wrote.
He claimed his father later agreed to meet him, but only if Nicola was not present, which he described as a “slap in the face”.
At the time, a source told the BBC that Brooklyn had chosen not to attend the party because his younger brother Romeo was attending with a woman Brooklyn had previously been linked to.
“Brand Beckham comes first”
Brooklyn accused his family of prioritising their public image and commercial interests over personal relationships.
“Brand Beckham comes first,” he wrote, adding that “family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media”.
He also said stepping away from his family had improved his mental health.
“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety,” he said. “For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.”
Brooklyn claimed his younger brothers had also turned against him, saying they had been “sent to attack me on social media” before blocking him.
In December, his brother Cruz Beckham publicly denied reports that their parents had unfollowed Brooklyn on social media, writing: “Not true. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son. Let’s get the facts right.”
“They woke up blocked as I did.”
Sir David and Lady Beckham share four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper Seven, who is 14.
