The newest Bugaboo pushchair, the lightweight Butterfly, has launched with some fantastic travel-friendly features. Slightly lighter than Bugaboo's compact city favourite, the Bee6, the Bugaboo Butterfly is a good option for urban parents residing in the city, who are on the go and who like to travel.

What are the Bugaboo Butterfly's best features?

Here are the main new features that set the Bugaboo Butterfly apart:

One second, one hand fold - Busy parents will appreciate this non-hassle one second, one hand fold. In literally one second and with a click of two buttons, the pushchair folds down to a compact package – no need to adjust the canopy hood, seat or leg rest. Likewise to unfold, once the buttons are engaged, the pushchair unravels out just as simply and is ready to use.

Ultra-compact and portable - The compact size of the Butterfly fold is another tick for travel-savvy parents. Once folded, the pushchair can be neatly tucked into small spaces such as car boots, train seats and overhead luggage compartments on trains – it'll even fit most airline's overhead lockers as it is IATA compatible. You can carry the folded pushchair handsfree by using the strap provided over your shoulder. The Bugaboo Butterfly is 45 x 23 x 54 cm when folded, and it weighs 7.3kg.

Improved seat and harness - The Bugaboo Butterfly has an extra large seat with a measurement of 63cm, great for growing toddlers who need wiggle room. The seat comes with extra padded cushioning and can recline into multiple positions. The leg rest is also adjustable and can be set to 5 different positions, perfect for resting those tired legs after a day of adventure. The harness has a "quick-click" function that makes fastening your child in and letting them out is a quick easy step.

Storage - the under-seat basket has a weight capacity of 8kg, impressive for a compact-folding stroller (and double the Bee6's capacity). This provides lots of storage space to put you and your baby's essentials, plus a few items from your daily errands or shopping trip. In addition to the space, you can also access the basket from both the front and back of the pushchair so your belongings are always within good reach.

What age is the Bugaboo Butterfly suitable for?

The Bugaboo Butterfly is suitable for babies from 6 months old up to a weight of 22kg (around 4 years old). This makes the pushchair a good choice for a second pushchair as it's one that will last a long time and great for the toddler to child stage. The seat is not suitable for newborns, but you can attach an infant car seat from birth using the Butterfly car seat adaptors.

How much does the Bugaboo Butterfly cost?

The Bugaboo Butterfly currently retails for £395 and is available in three colours: Stormy blue, Forest green and Midnight black. The package comes the chassis with wheels, under-seat basket, seat fabric, canopy hood, leg rest, seat inlay, carry strap and a rain cover.
