New mum Jacqueline Jossa will make her return to EastEnders this week and rather than being a little rusty, it turns out having her first baby was perfect preparation for the role... (SPOILER ALERT!)

In her first scenes, 22-year-old Jacqueline's character Lauren Branning goes into labour – and gives birth to a baby boy named Louie. And, after Jacqueline gave birth to a baby of her own in February, we’re expecting a realistic performance!

Lauren returns, pregnant, to Walford to help clear her dad Max's name in the Lucy Beale investigation but, when her waters break, she's rushed into hospital.

And as Max's trial for the murder of Lucy approaches, the birth of his first grandchild gives him even more of a reason to fight for his freedom.

As well as pictures of the new mum cradling her son, Jane Beale is also pictured cradling the newborn as Lauren's sister Abi and aunty Carol visit the new mum.

Jacqueline Jossa returned to Albert Square recently to film these scenes while still on her real-life maternity leave from giving birth to baby Ella in February.

And it seems Jacqueline's 7-month-old daughter is pretty supportive of her mum's career. In fact, she's just about as engrossed in the soap as we are!

"We are just catching up on some EastEnders. Ella loves it! ?," she recently shared on Instagram.
