EXCLUSIVE! Peach vs Pear: iCandy reveals the pros and cons

As Paul from iCandy explains, the Peach and Pear pushchairs are designed to co-exist. There’s no ousting the Pear on the horizon!

The Peach, in all three of its combos - Peach Stroller, Peach Blossom, Peach Blossom Twin – isn’t meant to replace the Pear. It’s a completely different product that’s meant to sit alongside the Pear, and give mums as much choice as possible when it comes to twin and tandem buggy options.

How the Peach stacks up against the Pear

The Peach is meant to be a more lightweight option – its chassis is only 8.9kgs (with wheels and shopping basket) whereas the Pear’s is 10.3kgs (with wheels and shopping basket). It’s easier to fold, too – you can basically do it one handed. Oh, and when it’s folded, the chassis is just 30cm x 60cm x 70cm. While this is super space efficient, it has full separate carrycots, which does use a bit more storage space when they’re no longer in use. The Pear, however, converts the seat unit to carrycot using only fabric.

The Peach’s carrycots are deeper than the Pear’s. They’re also approved for overnight sleeping, whereas the Pear carrycots are only approved for occasional overnight sleeping.

While the Pear has at least 20 options, there are much fewer ways to have the Peach set up. But, it can still convert from one type of Peach to another, so it’s not exactly optionless!

As mums have commented, the Peach seats face away from you, and you’re using it with the newborn twin carrycots, and these face in towards each other so only one baby is parent-facing at any one time. The Peach does allow an infant carrier car seat to rearward face whilst the toddler faces forward, but the Pear won’t do allow this combo.

When it’s in toddler mode, the Peach Blossom Twin only has a leg rest for the upper seat, and two seat recline positions.
