After giving birth to her second child Moses, instead of feeling elated, 37-year-old actress Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she felt like “a robot”. “I just didn’t feel anything, I had no maternal feelings for him – it was awful,” she admitted to Vogue magazine.
Speaking out about her experiences, like Billie Piper, who admitted to suffering from postnatal depression after the birth of her son, Gwyneth revealed how the first precious months were lost through feeling down. “I couldn’t connect. When I look at pictures of him at three months old, I just don’t remember that time.”
Luckily, her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin spotted the signs and advised Gwyneth to seek help. “My problem was that I never acknowledged anything was wrong. I carried on as normal. It was Chris who said out loud that something was wrong,” she shared.
The couple is also parents to daughter Apple, 5.
