This weekend was a very special one for Ireland football captain, Robbie Keane. Keane, 28, and his wife, Claudine Palmer, 25, are celebrating the safe arrival of their first child, Robert Ronan.
The new parents welcomed Robert to the world in a Dublin Hospital late on Saturday night. He weighed 7lbs 5oz and is in “excellent health” according to a hospital spokesman.
The baby is named after the Ireland football star and his own father, Robert Snr who died of liver cancer in 2003, at the age of 51.
The couple were married last June after a six-year relationship. They currently live in London but as the Premier League season is coming to an end, the couple will have some time to spend in Ireland with their newborn son as Claudine wished.
The couple hired a leading maternity doctor to assist them during the pregnancy.
