Katy Perry crashed a 5-year-old’s birthday party, making children cry and mothers fume.
It was all part of a series of 'hilarious' pranks for her new music video The World’s Worst Birthday Party Entertainers, in which the pop singer dresses up as different characters, including a clown and an animal trainer – but, from the looks of things, not everyone's seeing the funny side. Especially some of the children.
The video starts with the text: “In April 2014, Katy Perry attended 5 birthday parties… only no one knew it was her.”
Then, dressed as Kriss the Clown, the Firework singer attends a real-life child’s birthday party at Knollwood Country Club outside LA.
She takes a baseball bat to the children's piñata, hitting a parent in the process and chugging from a hip flask before running out into the street and causing a fake car-crash.
Hidden cameras filmed the action, and the singer says that the children and their parents had no idea the accident was a joke.
And, if you listen carefullly, you can hear one clearly distressed child saying “Mommy, I want to leave.”
In another of the pranks, Katy dresses as Ace the Animal Trainer, shows the children some white mice – and then pretends to eat one.
What do you think? Is it all a harmless bit of fun? Or has Katy gone too far?
