Kim Marsh has a baby born 5 weeks early

Coronation star gives birth to a healthy little girl

Actress Kym Marsh, 34, has given birth to a little girl, Polly Lomas, five weeks before her due date following a natural birth. Her partner, actor Jamie Lomas, 30, who plays Warren Fox on Hollyoaks posted a message for fans on twitter which said; ‘Thank you all so much for your lovely messages, she is an absolute belter and is doing really well. Kym, really proud of you. Go on Polly Lomas.’

A spokeswoman said: “Jamie Lomas and Kym Marsh are delighted to announce that they are the proud parents of a baby girl, Polly Lomas. “Polly was born on Wednesday evening weighing 4lb 1oz. Mum and baby are doing well.”

Born early The joyful news comes after Kym was forced to start her maternity leave from the TV soap early after succumbing to the flu.

Having previously suffered problems with her cervix, Kym, who plays Michelle Connor in the soap, was confined to bed rest while at home. She has said of the pregnancy: “It’s been really difficult. I have been diagnosed with an incompetent cervix, which is when your cervix is too weak to stay closed during pregnancy due to the extra weight of the baby. It can cause premature birth or late miscarriage.

“This time around I was a high-risk patient and I’ve been monitored closely.

Overcoming tragedy In 2009, the couple suffered the tragic death of son Archie who died after being born 18 weeks early.

Kym recently revealed that she has felt too nervous during the pregnancy to buy anything for her newborn. She has two grown up children, David, 15, and 13-year-old Emily from a previous relationship, and has said this will be her last pregnancy.

She has said: “This pregnancy has been really difficult, a nightmare in fact. We’ve been on eggshells.” Baby expert wants to wish Kym Marsh, Jamie and baby Polly our very best wishes.
