Last night, Twitter user Kym Marsh stood up for herself when a follower attacked her for returning to work after her pregnancy, according to the Daily Mail.

The 35-year-old is currently engaged to Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas and gave birth to their daughter, Polly, in March. Kym is also mum to David, 16, and Emily, 13, from a previous relationship. She is currently on maternity leave from Coronation Street but recently appeared on David Walliams' TV show Wall Of Fame, which is where this criticism stemmed from.

A user named 'Nickackland' tweeted, "Doesn't know why celebs like @msm4rsh and @hollywills leave their babies for tv it's ridiculous."

The ex-pop star angrily replied to the user directly, tweeting: "It's called working....or should we not be working when we have children?? How dare we provide for our kids! Idiot."

Kym also tweeted to her mum Pauline saying, "Can you believe I'm being criticised for WORKING now!! Suppose I should rely on others to provide for my kids should I??! Ha x"

Another follower pointed out that some people on benefits aren't able to work even if they wanted to, but Kym was quick to respond saying: "No I didn't mean it like that Hun. I have also been on that side of the coin but I am not gonna be criticised for going to work!"

Kym has spoken out before about her struggles as a single parent. "When I was a single parent it was hard. Sometimes I didn't have any money to put in the meter or buy the children toys, but you just have to keep going," she has said.

This isn't the first time Kym Marsh has been caught up in a Twitter fued. In June, Kym hit back at critics who accused her of being "vain" and "lazy" when she admitted she was struggling to breastfeed Polly.
