Never say never! Home and Away's Emily Symons, 45, announces pregnancy
The Aussie soap star who plays Marilyn underwent IVF to make her 'greatest wish' come true
Home and Away actress Emily Symons has announced she's 5-months pregnant with her first child. Emily, who plays Marilyn Chambers on Home and Away and was also Emmerdale barmaid Louise Appleton, is 45 and admitted that before she got pregnant, she felt she was "too old" to have a baby.
"I very much thought it couldn't happen and I was too old," she told Australia's Daily Telegraph. "I thought it would be impossible but it isn't. I'd given up really. I thought I had tried every avenue that was available to us. My advice is to not give up if you're feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole process."
Emily has talked openly in the past about her wish to have children. She'd originally had IVF treatment when married to ex Lorenzo Smith but the couple split, and she later revealed that her desire for children had put a lot of pressure on the marriage.
Now Emily is thrilled to be pregnant with her new partner Paul Jackson. "Never say never! We are so happy to finally be able to share our news. Thanks for all your incredibly kind words," she tweeted.
Due in August, Emily willl take a break from filming before returning once again to the Australian soap.
