As of today, there are two new thinner nappies on supermarket shelves, with Tesco’s revamped Super Fit nappies joining Pampers Active Fit in the thin nappy arena.

Pampers Active Fit are touted as being Pampers’ driest nappy ever – but with 20% less bulk. And Tesco Super Fit have become the first own-brand nappies to boast a slimmer fit whilst maintaining the same performance.

Both Pampers and Tesco are quick to point out that their thinner nappies haven’t compromised absorbency or comfort. For Pampers, it’s all about new Dry Max technology. For Tesco, it’s called Maxi Dry technology. Basically, it seems the way the absorbent material is put into the nappies is done in a smarter, targeted way. This means less bulk, a slimmer fit and more ease of movement for your baby.

The new Tesco Super Fit will be rolling out from today over the next few weeks – look out for the big blue “IMPROVED!” stamp on packs. Super Fit prices range from £3.99 for a 32-pack of size Midi (4-9kg) to £6.49 for a 40-pack of Junior Plus (13.27kg), a new size designed for toddlers.

Pampers Active Fit with Dry Max are now in selected supermarkets and pharmacies, and cost about £5.99 for a carry pack.
