Polarn O. Pyret celebrates 50 years of children’s clothing with new limited collection
Swedish brand PO.P marks its golden anniversary with a new collection and a continued focus on quality and sustainability.

For 50 years, Swedish childrenswear brand PO.P, also known as Polarn O. Pyret, has been making clothing designed for childhood in all its messy, energetic glory. In 2026, the brand, loved by parents for its durable outerwear and long-lasting designs, celebrates its golden anniversary with a limited-edition collection. The new collection highlights its most iconic designs from the past 50 years, while reaffirming the brand's commitment to quality, sustainability, and durability.
Founded in 1976, PO.P has always championed the idea that children’s clothes should be designed with children in mind. That means garments that move with kids, withstand the weather, and last long enough to be loved by more than one child. Over time, the products have evolved with society, but the focus on functional, long-lasting clothing remains at the heart of the brand.
Clothes designed to be loved by more than one child

For decades, PO.P has encouraged families to be sustainable and pass garments down from child to child. This ethos is reflected in the new fourth line added to name labels inside the clothing, making space for every child who wears them. Today, 66% of PO.P’s outerwear is worn by three children or more, keeping the company’s motto, “To be worn by at least three children,” as relevant as ever.
“For us, quality is about responsibility," says Sara Sjöberg, CEO of PO.P. "When garments are thoughtfully designed from the start, they can be used for a long time, by more people and in different contexts. That builds trust with families and creates a brand that stands strong over time. Today, we clearly see how our offering meets a growing demand for sustainable premium products, which gives us the confidence to continue investing in the brand and in our growth going forward”.
As well as the shifting the focus away from fast fashion PO.P is best known for its outerwear, encouraging children to get outdoors whatever the weather. From rain and snow to wind and playtime, each piece combines technical materials, practical features, and a fit that allows children to move freely.
The PO.P 50 COLLECTION
To mark 50 years, PO.P has launched the PO.P 50 COLLECTION — a limited range paying tribute to the brand’s heritage while updating its most beloved designs for today. The collection drops in stages throughout 2026, starting in March with a celebratory release inspired by the original blue, red, and white colour palette.
Highlights include hero blue-and-white striped sets, babygrows, sleepsuits, and coordinating T-shirts featuring the original 1976 “Polarn & Pyret” logo. The collection blends nostalgia with modern touches, celebrating the brand’s past while looking to the future.

Looking ahead to the next 50 years
Quality has always been central to PO.P’s mission, and the anniversary year is a chance to reflect on this ethos while planning for the decades ahead. The goal remains to make garments that last, reduce waste, and provide families with sustainable, reliable clothing for everyday life.
“For 50 years, PO.P has built its business on garments that stand the test of time — both in terms of quality and relevance," says Sara Sjöberg. "As we enter our anniversary year, we do so with a strong foundation and a clear focus on the future. By continuing to develop high-quality products with a long lifespan, we are creating the conditions for sustainable and profitable growth in both existing and new markets over the next 50 years as well”.
For us, quality is about responsibility. When garments are thoughtfully designed from the start, they can be used for a long time, by more people and in different contexts.
From timeless outerwear to playful everyday pieces, PO.P’s 50th anniversary is as much about celebrating its legacy as it is about looking forward — ensuring that children can be children, outdoors and happy, for generations to come.
