Actress and mum-of-three Sadie Frost has opened up about battling with PND in her soon to be released autobiography, Crazy Days. The 35-year-old ex-wife of Jude Law has admitted that her post-baby struggles began when she started to feel lonely after giving birth to son Rafferty, now 13.
“Jude was away a lot while I was sitting on the sofa getting fatter and gripped by a nagging sense that I was jeopardising my love. I wanted to press the self-destruct button,” she wrote in her autobiography. “I arranged a babysitter and I partied all night and got home the next day racked with guilt. I felt numb.”
Sadie then admitted to feeling so low, she turned to self-harming before realising that she was suffering from PND. “I watched my hand slowly pick up a pair of scissors. It was as if I was being sucked down lower into the chair and the scissors seemed to be drawn to my arm,” she revealed.
The mum-of-three was later treated for postnatal depression and went onto give birth to daughter Iris in 2000 and Rudy in 2002.
