Pros

  • Slick design, comfortable, secure, gentle and fluid bouncing motion

Cons

  • Price won't suit all budgets, reclining position not adjustable

If your home was oozing style pre-baby, chances are you’ll be pleased to see a bit of baby gear like the BabaBing loBO baby bouncer on the market. It’s sleek, slick and delightfully minimalist.

Unlike many pieces of baby furniture you often can’t wait to fold away out of sight, the BabaBing loBO baby bouncer is beautifully designed. With a mocha and lime zest colour scheme, this bouncer is a million miles removed from the often garish and cheap-looking models out there.

Of course, stylish looks would count for nothing if the bouncer was not comfortable and secure, but on this front the BabaBing loBO baby bouncer doesn’t disappoint either, as it offers a smooth and fluid bounce that will gently soothe and calm your baby, whatever the surface – tiles, wood or carpet.

What we love

At the risk of repeating myself, the looks, the looks, the looks. The BabaBing loBO baby bouncer’s oval ‘spring design’ gives it an ultra modern feel and the colours (garish as they may sound unseen) are wonderfully rich and soothing.

Then there’s the bounce motion. The gentle bounce – almost a languid sway up and down – more often than not transformed our daughter’s eyes from wide open to wonderfully shut within minutes. No wonder it won the Kind + Jugend Innovation Award for 2009.

Its other features are equally impressive. Its 'Quick-Smart' supportive harness is entirely secure, yet opens fully to allow quick, no-fuss entry and exit. There’s toy bar included, complete with exclusive BabaBing soft toys ‘Boo’ and ‘Belty’ (yeah, you might want to rename them!). The safety feature of the toy bar detaching immediately if it’s accidentally used for lifting the bouncer. And then there’s the fact that the seat cushion is reversible (mocha and lime zest or purely mocha).

Given that our daughter now likes to sit back and have a drink or nibble in her BabaBing loBo baby bouncer, it’s ideal that the plush fabrics surrounding the bouncer (including a supportive head hugger) are all machine washable.

What to look out for

As you might well expect, the price. At a RRP of £79, it’s obviously out of budget range for many families, especially given that its use is limited to babies up to 9kg (about 6 months).

Also, unlike some other bouncers, the reclining position is not adjustable.

Who is the BabaBing loBO baby bouncer best for?

Parents who like baby gear to come with a very generous dash of style and class.

MadeforMums verdict

The BabaBing loBO baby bouncer is stylish way to soothe your baby in those early months. It has handy safety features, such as a supportive harness and toy bar that detaches as soon as you try and lift it by it. The machine washable fabric and head hugger also add to its mum-friendliness. An absolute winner if spending up a bit larger is not a problem.
