Established in 1997, French brand Babymoov claim their mission is to make everyday life easier for parents with their products and they appear to have achieved that with the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure Steriliser, Dryer & Purified Bottle Storage steriliser.

What sets this product apart from other steam sterilisers on the market is that like the newest UV sterilisers, it uses a HEPA filter to eliminate bacteria and contaminants at an extremely high rate of efficiency and claims to kill 99.7% of germs and 99.5% of air pollutants.

Holding up to six bottles, as well as pacifiers, breastfeeding equipment and even toys, the Turbo 3-in-1 Pure keeps products inside sterilised for up to 24-hours. With its additional drying and purifying features, parents can be reassured that bottles are as clean as can be. It was also shortlisted in the best steriliser category at the MFM Awards 2022.

Tested By

Cher Whelan has been a journalist for 10-years. She lives in Kent with her husband and two children, Miller, 2, and Henley, 1 month. She is bottle feeding Henley and tested the Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser for everyday use with eight bottles and several dummies.

How easy was the Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser to set up?

I found the Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser very easy to set up and with a simple to follow instruction manual, there is very little that can go wrong. MFMs parent tester Kara Beresford, who tried out this product with her 5-month old, also agreed that it was “so simple to set up and used clear instructions to follow”.

You just need to do a quick clean of the machine with soapy water and you are ready to go. After adding 160ml of water to the tank, you can run an 8-minute sterilising cycle and then follow with a drying time of either 30, 45, or 60-minutes, which you can select depending on the size of the load in the machine - the more you put in the steriliser, the longer the drying time will be.

How does the Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser compare to other products you have looked at or used?

I currently use a Tommee Tippee electric steam steriliser which is very quick and basic, doing the job in just 5-minutes. However, the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure’s drying feature is a game changer with no more dripping wet bottles, because in as little as 38-minutes, products can be sterilised and completely dried. Not many steam sterilisers on the market have a drying feature, and with drying being an important part of the sterilisation process, I’m reassured that my bottles are as clean and safe for Henley as possible.

How do you use the Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser?

After a quick read through the instructions, the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure is very simple to use:

  • To run a sterilisation and drying cycle you simply begin by loading the machine and filling the tank with 105ml of water.
  • Press the sterilisation and drying button to turn this feature on. Then press the button again - once for the 53-minute cycle (8-minutes sterilising and 45-minutes drying), twice for the 68-minute cycle (8-minutes sterilising and 60-minutes drying), or three times for the 38-minute cycle (8-minutes sterilising and 30-minutes drying), depending on the load size. Then press OK to start the cycle.
  • The timer will then start counting down and three alarm beeps will signal the end of the cycle.

I did find the order the cycles are set to quite confusing. It would be a lot simpler if you pressed the button once for the shortest cycle and three times for the longest. However, parent tester Kara felt that this steriliser had “very good, easy to follow instructions with clear controls”.

Babymoov 3in1 Steriliser

The Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure uses a HEPA filter, what did you think of this feature?

Like a few other steam sterilisers on the market, notably the DR BROWN'S Clean Steam and the Tommee Tippee Advanced Steri-Dry, the Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure uses a HEPA filter. This feature helps to keep bottles, teats, dummies etc extra clean by removing dust, pollen and airborne pollutants, eliminating 99.5% of these nasties.

The health and safety of my baby is a priority, so to know that the HEPA filter works alongside the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure’s steam sterilisation, which claims to eliminate 99.7% of bacteria, is reassuring for any parent.

It’s advised by the manufacturer that the HEPA filter is changed every 6-months, with an additional filter provided. Filters can also be purchased online via the Babymoov website for £8.99. While having to remember to buy filters every 6-months at added cost may be considered a downside, even the latest, more expensive UV sterilisers are using this technology so it could just be the way these machines are changing to make sure items are cleaner than ever.

What are the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure sterilising cycle timings like?

I am solely bottlefeeding so I need to sterilise at least 8 bottles a day, in addition to pacifiers and any toys. It means I need to run at least 2 sterilising and drying cycles a day, and with the shortest cycle taking 38-minutes for just a small load, it’s not exactly time saving. While the countdown timer is very useful, there have been a few occasions when Henley has been hungry for a feed, but I’m still waiting for a cycle to finish in order to use a clean bottle.

As tempting as it can be to always select the shortest cycle in order to save time, this isn’t the best idea as it will just mean your bottles don’t come out completely dry. You can just run an 8-minute sterilising cycle and forgo the drying, but it means all of the bottles come out dripping wet. With the longest cycle taking up to 68-minutes, it’s certainly not the quickest machine on the market and for those looking for a speedy steriliser, it’s not ideal for busy mums on the go.

What is the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser’s capacity like and is it easy to stack?

I am using the Tommee Tippee Anti Colic 260ml bottles and I can only fit 3 of these in the machine at once, with a couple of pacifiers. You can easily adjust the rack in the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure by taking out some of the bottle holders to create more space but the hooks at the top are very useful to hang dummies from. However, even by removing some of the bottle holders, it can be quite fiddly to stack bottles in the machine, especially if you have a lot.

Babymoov claims you can sterilise up to 6 bottles at once, and although the machine looks quite big, unless you are only using small bottles, I’m not sure how you will be able to stack 6 bottles inside without difficulty. However, a review on John Lewis supported the manufacturer’s claims, stating that they could “easily fit 6 bottles in” as the machine is quite tall so can accommodate extra items.

How easy is the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser to clean?

It’s very easy to clean and the lid and rack are dishwasher safe, but can be just as easily cleaned in hot soapy water. The base and water tank can just be wiped clean with a damp cloth. To prevent excessive scaling, it is recommended to descale the machine regularly and as I live in a hard water area, I’ve been descaling it once a week. However, after 50 cycles have been run, the machine automatically alerts you to remind you to descale it which is very useful.

The 3-in-1 Turbo Pure is easy to descale - simply fill the water tank with 50ml of hot water and 105ml of white vinegar and leave for 2 hours. After emptying the tank, run a sterilising cycle to remove any residue. Then press ‘OK’ and hold for 5-seconds to reset the machine and remove the descaling alert icon. As previously explained, you will also need to replace the HEPA filter every 6-months.

What did you think of the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser’s look and size?

The Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser is quite big (H40 x W26 x D29cm), so you will definitely need countertop space for it. However, with its clear lid and digital display, it still manages to look quite stylish. Parent tester Kara noted that the steriliser was “quite nice looking and fits in with my kitchen decor well”, adding that she felt it was “slim and not too bulky”, while a John Lewis customer review felt it was “quite tall” and took up quite a bit of room in the kitchen. A reviewer on Amazon also felt the only real negative of the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure was its size but added: “As long as you have the space, there's absolutely no reason not to buy it.”

Babymoov 3in1 Steriliser

How portable is the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser?

The Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser is quite lightweight (2.43 kg), so it is easily portable when it comes to moving around the house. However, due to its size, it is not easy to travel with and doesn’t come with a travel bag either.

Who would the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser steriliser be most useful for?

Due to the long cycles, I wouldn’t recommend this steriliser to mums who are solely bottle feeding, unless you have the time and patience to run several long cycles a day. However, for mums simply looking to sterilise just a few bottles or breast feeding equipment, then the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser is great and offers peace of mind that everything is sterilised to a high efficiency.

Is the 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser worth the money?

Retailing at £89.99, the Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser sits in the middle of the market. It’s certainly not the most expensive machine, but it isn’t the cheapest either. Thanks to its efficiency in cleaning and drying bottles and its use of a HEPA filter, which not all steam sterilisers have, for peace of mind knowing that your baby’s items are sterilised to a high standard, I think it’s worth the price tag. Just don’t forget, the HEPA filters add an extra £8.99 cost every 6-months.

Where can I buy the Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser?

It is available from Babymoov, John Lewis and Amazon

MadeForMums verdict:

There are a lot of things I like about the Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure steriliser, with its drying function and HEPA filter to make sure bottles are extra clean, leaving me impressed. However, I found the sterilising and drying cycles too long. I use a lot of bottles each day, therefore, I need a steriliser that does the job quickly. I’d only recommend this machine to mums who need to run a limited number of cycles a day. At £89.99, it isn’t the cheapest steriliser on the market and I’m not overly keen on having to buy a new filter every 6-months. It is also taller than your average steam steriliser, so may be too large for those families with smaller kitchens and counterspace. While the Babymoov 3-in-1 Turbo Pure does an efficient job, personally, I’d prefer a slightly cheaper, more compact steam steriliser that does the job faster.
