The Izmi Breeze Adventure Toddler Carrier is a lightweight, breathable carrier designed specifically for older babies and toddlers from around 12 months up to 32kg (approximately 6-7 years). Known for its baby carriers like the Izmi Breeze, and sling-style designs, the UK-based brand focuses on combining ergonomic support with soft, flexible materials for both parent and child.

Designed with older children in mind, the Izmi Breeze Adventure stands out for its breathable mesh construction and wrap-style shoulder straps, which aim to make longer carries more comfortable while keeping the carrier lightweight and easy to use day to day.

During our testing, we wanted to see whether it really bridges the gap between structured carriers and slings, and whether it offers enough support for longer carries while still feeling portable and practical for everyday use.

About our parent tester

Sophie tested the Izmi Breeze Adventure Toddler Carrier with her 14-month-old daughter Patsy. The carrier accompanied them on daily school runs, dog walks, day trips and holidays

Sophie is a freelance journalist with over a decade of experience reviewing baby and nursery products. As a mum of 4, she has carried all of her children and is a huge babywearing advocate. Sophie knows that finding the right carrier can make the world of difference to your family.

How easy is the Izmi Breeze Adventure Toddler Carrier to put on?

When using a new carrier, I always practice putting it on and off without my little passenger. Once I'm confident using it with a teddy or a doll, I then try with my baby or child before heading out.

The Izmi Adventure can be fastened in multiple ways and is easy to secure when alone. Even though it's a structured carrier, the shoulder straps are spread like a wrap-style carrier. They are padded, making them easy to use, adjust and wear.

You can choose to wear the shoulder straps in an H or X position. I favoured the H position as I find it more intuitive, but it's great to have both options.

What I loved most is that you get a free video fit check when you first receive your carrier. The instructions are easy to follow and an Izmi-employed expert arranged a video call with you to check your fit and answer any questions — how wonderful is that?

What age range is the Izmi Breeze Adventure Toddler carrier suitable for?

The Izmi Breeze Adventure Toddler carrier can be used from 12 months up to 32kg (roughly 6-7 years old).

I popped my friend's 5 year old in the carrier to see how practical and comfortable it would be carrying an older child, and it was surprisingly effortless. It felt similar to giving a piggyback, but the weight was spread evenly over the broad shoulder straps, so it didn't feel as heavy as I expected.

Is the sizing accurate?

The sizing of the carrier is impressive. It's surprising how well it fits both a 12 month old and a 5 year old, but it supports both comfortably.

One clever design feature is the hood extender. It can be used to cover your child's head if they are napping or need protection from the weather, and it also doubles as extra back support when carrying taller children.

How comfortable is it for you?

I found the Izmi Breeze Adventure carrier very comfortable to wear.

I often wear my little girl for full days out, including farm work and lifting, and I never experienced back pain or felt any pressure points from the carrier.

The waistband is well padded and provided great lower back support.

Is the weight well distributed across your body?

One of the best design features of the carrier has to be the shoulder straps. They are spread in a wrap-style design, which helps distribute weight evenly across your shoulders, making carrying feel much more effortless.

Is it easy for you to do other things while wearing it?

There isn’t much I didn’t do while carrying my toddler in the carrier. I walked the dog, cooked, mucked out horses, lifted bales of hay, mixed concrete and cut the grass!

How comfortable is it for your child?

A great measure of how comfortable a carrier is is whether my toddler is relaxed enough to nap — and she often took 40-minute to 1-hour naps whilst strapped to my front or back in the carrier.

The seat width is easily adjustable to ensure the correct positioning of your child's pelvis and back. We adjusted it during setup and our little girl has been comfortable ever since.

On several occasions she napped while I continued working hands-free, as she felt well-supported and snug.

How adjustable is it for different wearers?

The carrier is very easy to adjust for different parents or carers. My husband and I have often switched it between us, and even passed it to a friend too, and it doesn't take long to adjust at all.

The panel width is adjusted via adjusters in the waistband, which was quick and easy to do.

Are the buckles easy to use?

Reaching the neck clips on carriers usually requires a bit of contortion! Thankfully, the straps and buckles on this carrier were easy to reach and smooth to adjust.

Having the option of both X and H strap configurations is a huge helping hand here too.

What carrying positions does it offer?

The carrier offers flexibility and several options for carrying:

  • Front carry (parent-facing)
  • Back carry
  • Hip carry (up to around 2.5-3 years old)

I used both front and back carry regularly. I carry on my front when walking to chat and bond, and on my back when getting jobs done or when my child needed a nap.

Switching between positions was straightforward by rotating the carrier around my waist.

Is it more suitable for short trips or long days out?

The Izmi Breeze Adventure is a real workhorse of a carrier. It works well for short school runs as it's lightweight, portable and can easily be folded and put in your bag, but is also sturdy and comfortable enough for all-day wear.

How breathable is it?

Before using the Izmi Breeze Adventure, I assumed mesh carriers might feel a bit flimsy, but I was proved wrong.

The carrier not only kept my little girl cool in a heatwave, but it's also very useful when the weather turns cooler, as my little girl is able to wear her fleece in the carrier without overheating.

Would you use this in summer or on holiday?

We have plans to use the Izmi Breeze Adventure on holiday abroad in a few months as we expect our little girl will stay comfortable and cool in the mesh fabric.

How does it compare to a traditional cotton or wrap carrier?

The seat of the carrier is just as strong and robust as our cotton Tula carrier, but offers better airflow, meaning it feels less hot and sticky for my child.

Is it portable and easy to store and transport?

We keep the carrier in the footwell of the car, but it folds down small enough to fit into a changing bag when needed.

How easy is it to clean?

I’ve only had to wash the carrier once.

I popped it in the machine on a cool wash and hung it to dry on the washing line. It came out as good as new. For everyday marks such as a dribble mark or snack spill, a baby wipe or damp cloth does the job.

Does the mesh fabric dry quickly?

The mesh panel dries quickly, but the cotton straps and waistband take a few hours to dry fully.

What’s in the box?

  • Izmi Breeze Adventure Toddler carrier
  • Hood extender

Could this be passed on or reused after one child?

The packaging is sturdy enough to store the carrier for future use, and the carrier itself feels durable enough to be reused or passed on once outgrown.

Is it worth the money?

Our usual toddler carrier has a significantly higher price tag than the Izmi Breeze but having used them both side by side, we think the Izmi Breeze offers excellent value and has definitely won us over.

It’s a great hybrid between a structured carrier and a sling, offering the best of both worlds for us.
